April Ross
April Ross is only one of the few beach volleyball players to have won medals more than once at an Olympics. Alix-Klineman will compete with Ross at Tokyo in order to claim her third gold in the next couple of days. But more than that, Ross hopes to win her very first Olympic gold. As she turns 39, it could be Ross' last chance to take home the Olympic gold. Nevertheless she is confident that winning the gold medal is at hand. If we play our best or even if we play well I feel like we can get that gold medal Ross declared on NBC Boston. In addition, I'm planning to rely on a bit of luck. Ross was born in Costa Mesa, California in 1982. Her parents and her sister resided there. Ross's athletic endeavors was continued by Newport Harbor High School where she participated in several different sports. She competed in basketball and the track as well as her volleyball skills in the indoors in her time as a college athlete. She was definitely a cut above the rest when it came to the second sport. In her own biography in high school, she was a volleyball player as an outside setter (middle blocker) and setting (outside blocker). Gatorade Circle of Champions named her as the National Player 1999. The skills she showed in volleyball also earned her an Orange County Athlete of the Awards in 2000. Ross Klineman and Ross may have started working together in 2017, but Ross was already an established athlete at the beach prior to when they teamed up. It's true that she has won numerous events, and one was won by the legendary player of volleyball. Jennifer Kessy was her partner for six years, between 2007 and 2013. She also worked with Klineman and herself. Ross, the teammate of Kessy's, who was the winner of the world championship with Kessy in 2009, was also a major force on international stage. The duo would go through to take home a silver medal at the 2012 Olympic Games at London. Misty Maytreanor (Jennings) as well as Misty Maytreanor won gold, beating them to it. Ross Jennings became Walsh Jennings partner in fate after Maytreanor's retirement. They won the bronze medal in beach volleyball during the Rio Olympics 2016. Ross was a player for the USC Trojans in the college years following her graduation from in high school. It was a successful run for Ross at the school. Her freshman year in 2000 was when she won the Pac-10 and NCAA Freshman's of the Year awards and be an All-American. The Trojans had the chance to reach the Final Four with her help. During her sophomore year she experienced a devastating personal setback but managed to be a second All-American. In her last two seasons as a player, she led the Trojans to the summit netting three consecutive championships at the national level. The achievements of each individual have established her place as a legendary volleyball player. Ross was awarded the Honda Sports Award 2003-04 for the top female NCAA player. Ross studied international relations at USC. Unfortunately Ross mother Margie was not able to witness Ross rise to the top levels of beach volleyball superstardom. Ross suffered the loss of her mother to breast cancer in 2001. Ross was then a sophomore. She is devoted to her late parent. Margie remains a constant source of inspiration to her in and out of the water.
